I keep having this recurring idea about the casual dining area in my kitchen. I want to mix things up a bit. Make it a little more modern. A little more comfortable. I love the idea of a built-in banquette, but I don't think that's going to happen. So, now I'm thinking of using a settee on one side and other chairs around the table.

And the inspiration for the chairs around the table?
I saw these chairs in a recent Southern Living and was immediately drawn to them. They're from Ikea and very reasonable.
And a possible settee? I've been keeping my eye out for an affordable option to reupholster with a bold stripe. Here's a possibility . . .
Of course, most the inspiration photos have an oval or round table and mine's rectangular. Small details, right?
I probably won't follow through on any of this, but it is fun to dream. Do you think I'm crazy?
