A New House with an Old Vibe

I just finished working on a house with a friend/client that has given me some serious house envy. I try very hard not to get too attached, but this one and all of it's character, just does it for me. Enter their large airy foyer complete with a reclaimed door and amazing heart pine floors. We painted the walls and the trim Benjamin Moore, Dove White. We went one shade darker with the walls so the trim would pop and so would her art. 

Come on in... 

 We found this table and the blue/white ceramic ginger jars and vases at local auction house, Big South. Major scores if you ask me because she wanted a lived in collected look that would mesh with her existing pieces. 

 We layered and added pops of blue and white and pulled from her rugs and art throughout the living space. 

 New (but worn) leather chairs and a big comfy sectional covered in linen gives the room an aged but relaxed vibe. 

 The metal base coffee table was refinished on top to give a dated oak finish new life. 

We painted her chairs a medium gray and added new Ikat cushions for a sitting area with amazing water views. 

 The details make all of the difference. 

                             Books and...

more books make this room feel lived in. Aged brass pulls are like jewelry on the built-ins. 

We found this train depot bench at a warehouse sale and I love the look of it in their hallway. I loved every minute of shopping for this place and mixing this family's eclectic pieces with old (new) finds. The clients had a clear vision of what they wanted so it was fun to work on this with them.  I can't wait to show you more of this beauty. Stay tuned!
