You remember the porch and entry I recently finished. When a client loves a room, that love often spreads throughout the house -- it's job security for me! This room got a makeover using many of the client's existing pieces. These types of projects are often my favorites because, whether it be for sentimental reasons, budget or simply going green, it forces creativity.
More of what I love.
The sofa and wing backs were the clients and the coffee table was an heirloom. We went with it! I'm terrible about taking before shots. You can see the sofa and wing backs from the sunporch pre makeover.
We added a contrasting fabric to the backs of the wing backs to make them pop!
Nail heads and an amazing Threshold pillow (via Target) added the finishing touches to these otherwise dated chairs.
This Craig's List chair was redone in the modern floral and makes this once empty space perfect for reading or sitting by the fire. I layered the bookcases with family photos and collected things and adore the Threshold lamp (again, Target) with the ombre shade.
The big blank wall is blank no more! This 4X5 foot photo was framed to make a statement and it certainly does. Great photographers can be found on Etsy for a fraction of the price.
I love the antique rug. We had it custom made in Turkey. It was a big splurge, but the cost was off set by the reupholstered furniture. It's an over dyed patchwork in shades of turquoise cobalt and gray.
Here is another angle of the rug. I love the layer it adds to the space.
Details like this fretwork table and honeycomb glass lamp finish off the space.
Speaking of details... the client wanted to update their bar. We ripped out the laminate top and added this killer glass tile for the backsplash and the top. It modernizes it in a fun way and carries the colors across the room. A copper sink and oil rubbed bronze faucet are a big improvement over the black sink and brass fixtures.
The bar before just had a typical 90's vibe and didn't get much use and neither did the room.
I have a feeling this family will be entertaining a lot in their new space.
It's a big improvement and flows with the rest of the house.
The porch opens up from the living room and...
