Why the rule: NO white after Labor Day?
This is really going to put a crimp in our style.
We would like to give a special thanks to the makers of CLOROX for making all of this possible (for everyone else).
According to G.R.I.T.S. (a survival guide for us southern girls; aka: GIRLS RAISED IN THE SOUTH):
"Southern girls know bad manners when they see them," and a clear sign of bad manners is wearing white shoes before Easter or after Labor Day. Because fashions in the American South can be a little more formal than elsewhere, perhaps the no-white-shoes rule came from south of the Mason-Dixon Line?.
Hmmm. For those of you above the Mason-Dixon line, shed some light!! Can we still wear white jeans? PANIC.
So we'll put these away (which maybe we should have done in the late 90's)...
If we can hang onto some of our favorite things...
world of color,
even after Labor Day...
As for us, we covet the white room. Unfortunately, bloody noses, projectile vomit, muddy feet and traces of Cheetos make the white room unattainable at this time.
We would like to give a special thanks to the makers of CLOROX for making all of this possible (for everyone else).
Bye, bye birdie...
