It's really hard to pick a favorite area of the house we just completed BUT I do think if this were my kitchen I'd be doing a whole lot more cooking then I do now.... While we were there, the island served as our command station, I have a feeling things won't change. It is the perfect spot to gather.
Open, airy and simple was the goal for the kitchen. Concrete counter tops, and a gray barn wood top on the Island kept things cohesive. We punched up the space with the green island and glass tile back splash behind the stove.
We were so excited when our client sent us this set of antlers she won at auction in London. Blame it on genius or exhaustion but at some point during the install they made their way over the stove. We love the little dose of whimsy in the kitchen!
Dear West Elm, Thank you for partnering with Stray Dog and bringing us this chandelier. We think it's pretty great and so does our client.
There's nothing better then a cush place to sit in the morning and have your coffee... Less is more does not work when it comes to banquet pillows. We had the seat covered in a basket weave vinyl. Perfect for sippy cup drips and meals gone wild.
Hooper and Jen had these filled at a local nursery. They make a pretty accent in front of the kitchen window...
And now... The outdoor living and dining room...
We scored the railroad cart while in London at an antiques fair.
The stag was another score our client made at an auction in London. She knew she wanted him framed and over the outdoor mantle. We loved her vision and had a frame made to order.
Soon after we left, our client made smores for her kids in the fireplace. What a great place to hang out!
The bar cart was from the same London fair and will soon be overflowing with plants. The perfect pops of color for this outdoor space!
Would you ever eat inside if you could eat here?
We imagine our client and her adorable family will spend tons of time out here. Wouldn't you???
Stay tuned... more to come!!!
Bye,bye birdie,
~A&H
